Following some positive performances in the MHA cup, HMS once again faced La Salle, this time in the league. Unfortunately it wasn't going to be an easy game with several players injured and unavailable to play HMS were short of players having one of the keepers play as left wing. Regardless of this, the players played their heart out till the very last minute managing to keep a deficit of 11 goals, playing the last 20 minutes with a man down as centre Robert Cachia was injured. Congratulations to La Salle for starting the league with a win.
Antoine Brincat was asked to comment after the game:
"Having started the game with no reserves and many key players missing, HMS immediately knew that it was going to be a tough match against La Salle. Despite all of these shortcomings our players gave a great performance as during the first half the score was kept close all throughout. However in the second half fatigue and having to play the last twenty minutes with 6 men due to an unexpected injury took its toll and La Salle were able to increase the deficit. Nevertheless a great performance by the lads and plenty of positives to take from the match."
Score: La Salle Unique 33 - 22 HMS Parthenope
